Scenario:


Your Chief Financial Officer (CFO) has assigned your team to restructure the Accounting department in order to improve efficiencies, increase revenues, cut costs, and adopt best practices within the Accounting industry. This restructure consists of merging the following four groups into one team (this includes a reduction of the workforce):


  1. Auditing
  2. Tax
  3. CorporateGovernance
  4. Legal and Insurance


Create a 10-slide restructuring plan presentation with speaker notes that your team will present to your CFO. Your plan should address the following questions:


  • Identify the type of team the four groups will merged into and why this type of team will improve efficiencies and increase revenues.
  • What factors need to be considered when deciding employee selection?
  • How can trust be strengthened within management and employees of the new team?
  • What are potential conflicts that may occur and the resolutions to overcome them?
  • Which influence tactics may be most effective for management to utilize to get employees' buy-in on the merger?
  • What motivational techniques should be implemented to improve/enhance employee engagement and teamwork within the new team?
